Antenna is an international documentary film festival, established in 2011 with the mission to promote, celebrate and champion creative documentary cinema as one of the most exciting means by which we can connect to the contemporary world. Each year we view thousands of the latest documentaries from around the world to select a carefully curated program of 50 outstanding nonfiction works. We believe in the transformative potential of documentary and present a program that introduces audiences to the endless possibilities of the genre, with films that surprise them, spark their imagination and expand their world-views. But Antenna is about more than just screening films. During the five days of the festival, we create an inspiring meeting-place for connection and exchange, presenting seminars, talks, panel discussions and Q&A sessions. We also run an industry conference (DocTalk), professional development programs (Rough Cut Lab, Meet the Experts) and awards with cash prizes, fostering the next generation of documentary filmmakers.

Wonderful festival, great selection of films
Genuine documentary film festival - quality cinema sound and projection; lively and engaged audiences and film-culture community, a modest scale with excellent curatorial selection. A pleasure to attend.
Thanks so much Antenna Documentary Film Festival for presenting the Australian Premiere of BREAKING PLATES! We had a wonderful time at this thoughtfully programmed festival, which is attended by an enthusiastic community of cinephiles. Our BREAKING PLATES screening was a blast - completely sold out with people standing in the aisles! And then, to top if off, we were thrilled to win The Best Australian Short Award! Thank you. Can't recommend this festival enough.

FilmFreeway reviews are filmmaker opinions, not our score. Cross-check red flags before paying fees.
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
