[English version will follow] ASIATE EN COURT est une compétition de court métrage asiatique pour les résidents permanents canadiens ou citoyens canadiens uniquement. Organisé par le FESTIVAL ACCÈS ASIE, la compétition a pour but de promouvoir les cinéastes d'origine asiatique du Québec et du Canada. Le Festival Accès Asie est basé à Montréal et fait la promotion des arts, des cultures et des histoires asiatiques à travers une grande variété de disciplines artistiques, incluant les arts visuels, la danse, le théâtre, le cinéma, la musique, la littérature, la performance, les nouveaux médias et les arts culinaires. Ses activités se déroulent au mois de mai, Mois du patrimoine asiatique au Canada. Établi en 1995, le Festival Accès Asie est le plus ancien festival du Canada qui célèbre année après année les arts du patrimoine asiatique. Jusqu’à présent, il a présenté les œuvres de plus de 1000 artistes d’origine asiatique provenant de plus de 20 pays différents incluant l’Asie de l’Est (Japon, Chine, Corée) ; l’Asie du Sud-Est (Philippines, Indonésie, Malaisie, Vietnam, Thaïlande, Singapour) ; l’Asie du Sud (Pakistan, Inde, Bangladesh, Népal, Sri Lanka) ; l’Asie centrale et l’Asie de l'ouest (Turquie, Iran, Irak, Liban, Syrie, Arabie Saoudite, Afghanistan et Arménie). ------- ASIATE EN COURT is an Asian short film competition for Canadians (citizen or permanent resident) only. Organized by the FESTIVAL ACCÈS ASIE, the competition seeks to increase visibility for films and filmmakers of Asian heritage in Canada and Quebec. Festival Accès Asie is a Montréal-based arts festival that promotes Asian arts, cultures and histories through a diversity of artistic disciplines including the visual arts, dance, theatre, film, music, literature, performance, new media and culinary arts. Its activity is happening in May, which is Asian Heritage Month in Canada. Established in 1995, Festival Accès Asie is Canada’s longest continuously running Asian heritage arts festival. To date, it has presented works of over 1000 artists of Asian origin from more than 20 different countries including East Asia (Japan, China, Korea); Southeast Asia (Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore); South Asia (Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka); Central & West Asia (Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and Armenia).
