The Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival (FCDHBCN), now in its 23rd edition, is among the 5 oldest human rights film festivals in the world, and the first of its kind with open submissions to filmmakers across all genres. Through an annual open call, filmmakers worldwide submit their work in fiction, documentary, and animation. A professional jury selects the official programme and awards prizes across its different categories. The festival has become a launchpad for emerging filmmakers, supporting new voices and promoting fresh talent on an international stage. Organized by Derechos en Acción, an NGO with Special Consultative Status at the UN ECOSOC, and twice nominated by UNESCO's ICCAR for best practices. Past participants include world-class figures such as Nobel Peace Prize laureates Narges Mohammadi and Tawakkol Karman, Noam Chomsky, Ken Loach, Ai Weiwei, Amy Goodman and UN Special Rapporteur on Torture Nils Melzer. An essential international platform for filmmakers committed to fundamental liberties, human rights and cultural rights. El Festival de Cine y Derechos Humanos de Barcelona (FCDHBCN), en su 23ª edición, se encuentra entre los 5 festivales de cine de derechos humanos más antiguos del mundo, y es el primero a nivel mundial en su género y antigüedad abierto a inscripciones de cineastas en todos los géneros. A través de una convocatoria anual abierta, cineastas de todo el mundo presentan sus trabajos de ficción, documental, animación y cine experimental. Un jurado profesional selecciona la programación oficial y otorga premios en sus diferentes categorías. El festival se ha consolidado como lanzadera de nuevos talentos, apoyando a creadores emergentes y promoviendo nuevas voces en el panorama internacional. Organizado por Derechos en Acción, ONG con estatus consultivo especial ante el ECOSOC de la ONU, y nominado dos veces por el ICCAR de la UNESCO como buenas prácticas.
