This festival aims to highlight the best in British and International animated entertainment. This will be an incredible opportunity to see some of the brightest up and coming animators in the world and the work they are producing. The festival will be screening a diverse selection of animation throughout the day, from short films, to music videos to new TV pilots! The British Animation Film Festival is committed to celebrating the art of animation as a human endeavour. We believe that animation, in all its forms, represents the skill, vision, and creative labour of the artists behind it. As such, we do not accept submissions produced in whole or in part using AI-generated content, including but not limited to AI-generated visuals, motion, or sound design. All submitted works must be the original creation of human filmmakers.

Wonderful! Great Experience, Was honored and Blessed to be part of this film festival
I had a wonderful night at the British Animation Film Festival! It was held at the prestigious British Museum which was very impressive. The festival staff was super friendly and the curation of the film was strong. Highly recommend!
Thank you to the British Animation Film Festival for organising such a wonderful event. Everything was incredibly well run, with a great atmosphere and always a fantastic location. It’s amazing that the festival also recognises unproduced screenplays - my script received a Special Commendation this year, which made the experience even more special for me. I’m leaving the festival with great memories and a lot of inspiration. This was my second year attending: the first time as a guest and viewer, and this time as a participant and nominee. Thank you once again for an excellent festival!
An honor to be a Finalist, thanks so much for selecting Barry & Madison in your Festival.
Thank you to the British Animation Festival for selecting my script Time Switch: Stuck in Christmas as a selection and to be on the Lottie List. The staff at the festival were very friendly, helpful and full of encouragement.
FilmFreeway reviews are filmmaker opinions, not our score. Cross-check red flags before paying fees.
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
