Overview
The Buffalo International Film Festival (BIFF), established in 2006, is Western New York's leading annual film event that screens over 200 narrative, documentary, and experimental films from 30+ countries each October. Notable for its commitment to amplifying diverse voices and pushing the limits of independent cinema, BIFF features special programs like 'Racial Justice in View' and the 'BIFF Legacy Gala' while offering workshops and industry panels. Modeled after major festivals like Sundance and Toronto, it has grown from five to eight nights and serves as a significant platform for local, regional, and global filmmakers to connect with audiences.

Research
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
