Coming together in Wolfville to celebrate films and food is something so unique you'll want to keep making films just so you can come back again year after year. And that's exactly what I did for 5 years straight. I wouldn't be the filmmaker I am today without this festival and the community that brings it to life." – JR Reid, Director, Motioneer Productions "The Devour! team kicked off our film From the Vine's North American festival run with an incredible premiere! The audiences were enthusiastic and came hungry for both great stories and amazing food and drink! My lead actor Joe Pantoliano and I both fondly look back at our time in Wolfville as a highlight on our entire international festival tour." – Sean Cisterna, Director of From the Vine

I've attended the Devour! The Food Film Fest 6 times now as a filmmaker and every year is different, innovative, engaging and most of all delicious. The film schedule is always full of the best food themed films, and the dinners, workshops and events make the festival so unique and allow you to truly have an experience.
This was quite an experience. My first but not the last. The variety of experiences and the way the festval cooked the menu mixing films and foods was delicious. One festival happening not too far from home that is not to be missed. Thank you to the organization and to the people behind this wonderful experience.
A well organized festival, an including mix of filmmakers, organizers, volunteers and public
What an amazing and unique festival. While I was only able to attend the opening night I loved the combination of food and film in this gorgeous setting. The hospitality was out of this world. I left Nova Scotia with extreme FOMO. Now I have to make another food film so I can go back!
I’ve always wanted to be part of this iconic festival, and I was so excited to finally screen there this year! My documentary PRICED TO THRILL was shown to students over two days as part of the Big Picture Program, and it was an absolute delight. The experience was fun, intimate, and wonderfully organized... it truly felt like being part of an important community event. Thanks !!
FilmFreeway reviews are filmmaker opinions, not our score. Cross-check red flags before paying fees.
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
