Overview
The Femme Frontera Film Festival is an annual film festival held in El Paso, Texas, which celebrates films made by women and gender-expansive filmmakers from around the world, especially filmmakers of color from border communities. Created in 2016, the festival is run by women and gender-expansive filmmakers from the U.S.-Mexico border region. Femme Frontera has been featured in Variety Magazine, Texas Monthly magazine, and Remezcla. In 2018, the festival was listed as one of the top film festivals for women filmmakers. Although priority will be given to filmmakers who were born, live, and/or created their films in El Paso, TX, Las Cruces, NM, Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico and their surrounding communities, FFFF welcomes film submissions made by all women and gender-expansive filmmakers, especially BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), Migrant, Mexican, Mexican-American, Transfronterizx, and/or LGBTQIA+ filmmakers from around the world.

An incredible showcase run by absolutely wonderful people. It has been such a fantastic experience being included in this years lineup. They care so much about filmmakers, and what makes it truly unique is how many opportunities they offer- you film "travels" with the showcase to various showcases and fest around the world. Such a great experience!

Femme Frontera is a wonderful festival. Being selected and attending as a first-time filmmaker was very uplifting and fun. The staff and volunteers were very kind, and I met some amazing filmmakers.

An incredible film festival with thoughtful programming, incredible community building, and a stunning venue at the Mexican American Cultural Center. I can't recommend this film festival and special community enough. I loved it and am thankful to have had my documentary short screen here. I hope to be able to screen with Femme Frontera again in the future.
