I had heard that GenreBlast was not to be missed, so I made the trip down from New York and it was an experience that I will never forget! I made lifelong friends and teammates. The festival staff are so incredibly wonderful and welcoming. The venue and its staff were also fantastic. There was not one single film I saw that did not blow me away, the programming was masterfully put together. As a filmmaker, communication was clear and consistent throughout. I cannot recommend this festival enough.
We had a great time at the festival! The programming was great and the Alamo is a great screen to show a film. Our short film SHUTTER SOUND was nominated for several awards and the whole festival staff worked so hard to create a friendly and inclusive event to bring all the filmmakers and fans together. Definitely plan to attend again!
GENREBLAST is a best-of- both-worlds festival that combines an intimate festival experience where everyone from the fest knows you and knows your projects, with excellent programming and fantastic picture and sound quality. A highlight for me were the table reads, which included one of my nominated screenplays. Highly recommended for both filmmakers and screenwriters.
Believe the hype about GenreBlast. It’s worth it! Such great people, great films, and great experience overall. So honored to have won the award for Best Micro Short this year. Grateful beyond words for this awesome festival!
Incredible festival! I have not been able to attend because of work commitments but I have always felt so welcomed here. Communication is awesome and very organized. Excellent lineup of films and filmmakers and screenwriters are appreciated in a way that I haven't seen at many fests. Highly recommend submitting here.
