International MetaKansk Video Festival

Overview

The most unconventional film festival in the world continues its journey, bringing its programs to new audiences. This year, events will take place in the USA (Downsville) and the Netherlands (Amsterdam), featuring special festival screenings. The grand finale will be held in the Italian city of Gallipoli, where the International Competition will be presented and awards will be given. Dates&Places: June 20-22, Downsville, USA November, Amsterdam, Netherlands December 4-7, Gallipoli, Italy We promote and support young artists and their debut works and let them apply for free. We focus on new visual and cinematic languages in an effort to enrich and challenge both contemporary art and filmmaking. We have never drawn a line between professional filmmakers and amateurs — an approach that has brought many great names to the art world.   What a great experience Kansk 2020 was for me. My experimental art film Rockana found a home, all the way from Australia in Siberia. The festival team did an amazing job pulling all the tech together to run 24 hour online screenings for the first time due to restrictions. Excellent communication all the way. It was a special experience for me to have my work discussed in an intellectual and artistically aware manner by reviewers and judges, something I've found difficult to find elsewhere. Only disappointment was not being able to attend due to rona travel restrictions. I sure intend to visit Kansk and meet some of it's fine people in the future. Recommended festival.

  What an nice invitation it is to screen at a festival in Kansk, Siberia, a place where ones mind immediately starts to have photographs and stunning cinematography in mind. The variety of films and videos was mesmerizing, as well as all technical aspects to run a festival online worked without any interferences. It was special in a very positive way to have comments from the jury, poetry readings, performances and Q&As with interesting questions. And to received an award was fantastic. Thank you Kansk!
