Overview
The Key West Film Festival is an annual celebration of contemporary cinema in Key West, Florida, notable for being named one of Moviemaker Magazine's "25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World" and a "Top 20 Destination Film Festival"[4][7]. It showcases a diverse lineup including Florida-based documentaries, international features, LGBTQ cinema, student shorts, and fearless independent films, with a special focus on local talent through categories like "FloriDocs"[2][3][10]. The festival is a vital stop on the fall awards season circuit due to its unique juried Critics' Prize and the only film festival award dedicated to costume design, the Golden Key Award[1][7].

Research
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
