Welcome to the Kids Film Festival! Located in Portland, Oregon—a global hub for indie cinema and animation—we are an essential showcase for innovative, intelligent, and boundary-pushing family films. We believe kids are a sophisticated audience who deserve world-class storytelling. We aren't looking for mindless cartoons or patronizing scripts. We are looking for authentic, imaginative, and culturally diverse films that expand horizons and inspire the next generation. We proudly spotlight stories from across the globe and accept all genres (live-action, animation, and documentary), with one rule: all content must be family-friendly. We program two main tracks: Made BY Kids: We empower the next generation of creators. This track is open to student filmmakers worldwide—from elementary and middle schoolers to high school and college students. If you have a unique voice, we have a screen waiting for you. Made FOR Kids: This is for adult professionals and independent filmmakers. If you are an animator, documentarian, or director anywhere in the world making dynamic, high-quality content meant for a smart family audience, we want to put your work on the big screen. Bring your film to the indie capital of the Pacific Northwest. Submit your work today, and we’ll see you at the movies!

Rating synced from FilmFreeway; individual review text not pulled yet for this festival.
View on FilmFreewayFilmFreeway reviews are filmmaker opinions, not our score. Cross-check red flags before paying fees.
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
No community reviews yet. If you submitted here, your experience helps others avoid award mills.
