Overview
Mashariki African Film Festival is Kigali’s major film festival and one of Rwanda’s leading cinema events, founded to celebrate and elevate African filmmaking.[2][12] It showcases African and diaspora films across features, documentaries, shorts, TV/web series, and East African titles, while also serving as a networking and content-market hub that connects filmmakers with distributors, producers, broadcasters, and international media partners.[2][5][9][13]

Research
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
