Mecal Pro has consolidated its long history as one of the most important short film festivals in Europe and the world. Backed by local, national, and international institutions, the festival maintains its strong commitment to the exhibition, promotion, and networking of audiovisual creations in the short format—connecting filmmakers, distributors, and audiences alike, with a special focus on fostering emerging talent. In 2026, we screened more than 300 short films across the 29 sections we program.

Attending the Mecal Pro filmfestival was wonderful. Located near the beautiful beaches of Barcelona, supported by interesting workshops and with a cozy screening space outdoors next to Can Framis museum, it was a must go when we knew about showing Underground Serenade. Thanks for the great opportunity, we are already looking forward to our next time in Catalonia! 🎥

We are so thankful to Mecal Pro Film Festival for screening our stop motion film, "A Bird Hit My Window and Now I'm a Lesbian." We were honored to be a part of the "Trash Animation" program. Manu and the team were super communicative, supportive, and kind! xoxo, Carmela and AJ

It was an honor and a great pleasure to be part of this year edition of the Mecal Pro Film Festival with "Let me show you the beauty of falling from grace". On the behalf of Jimena Aguilar, Pablo Polledri and myself, I want to express our gratitude. And thank you very much for the warm welcome I have received ! It was great to discover the other artists work as well, and I highly recommend this festival.

Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
