Overview
The Montclair Film Festival (MFF) is an annual nonprofit event in Montclair, New Jersey, held each October that showcases a diverse mix of American and international fiction, documentaries, short films, and student works. Notable for its strong community ties and high-profile support from Stephen and Evelyn Colbert, the festival programs both prominent narrative films like 'Conclave' and daring independent works, offering awards in documentary, fiction, and emerging-voice categories. As a 'tier two' regional festival, MFF's significance lies in building word-of-mouth momentum for films with existing traction while providing a platform for New Jersey artists and emerging filmmakers.

Research
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
