Overview
Montevideo Fantástico is Uruguay’s first film festival dedicated to horror, fantasy, and science fiction, and it has run since 2005 as a showcase for independent and ultra-independent genre cinema. Its 16th edition features international short films, medium-length films, and features, with free screenings and activities that help circulate fantastic cinema beyond traditional commercial circuits. The festival is also notable in the regional circuit for its longevity and for being recognized as a cultural, municipal, and tourist-interest event in Uruguay.

Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
