Overview
The Noordelijk Film Festival is a five-day annual event in Leeuwarden, Netherlands, notable for being one of the oldest and largest regional film festivals in the country with 20,000–30,000 visitors. It distinguishes itself through its 'Northern Focus,' showcasing feature films, documentaries, and arthouse cinema from Northern Europe (including Iceland, Ireland, the UK, Scandinavia, and the Baltic states) alongside promising films from the local region. As the North's premier film festival, it serves as a significant springboard for emerging talent via the Noorderkroon competition and Industry program, while also highlighting films from small language areas through its unique 'Memmetaal' program line.

Research
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
