Overview
The Pan African Film & Arts Festival (PAFF) is the largest and longest-running Black film and arts festival in the United States, established in 1992 by Hollywood veterans Danny Glover, Ja'Net DuBois, and Ayuko Babu to promote Black stories and cultural understanding. It showcases over 200 high-quality films annually from more than 50 countries across the African diaspora, covering all genres including narrative features, documentaries, shorts, animation, and experimental works. PAFF is notable for being an Oscars-qualifying festival for Best Short Narrative, Best Short Documentary, and Best Animated Short, serving as a vital global platform for discovery, distribution, and the celebration of Pan-African cultures during Black History Month.

Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
