The Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival, now known as the Philadelphia Jewish Film and Media Festival (PJFM), is the oldest film festival in Philadelphia and the second-oldest Jewish-specific film festival in the United States, founded in 1981. It showcases international narrative films, documentaries, shorts, and digital media that explore Jewish life, culture, values, and the diaspora from religious and secular perspectives worldwide. The festival is significant for premiering many films before major releases or Academy Award consideration and for fostering community dialogue through Jewish cinema and storytelling.

Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
