Absolutely amazing! I took home my first win from them. The festival director is incredibly down to earth and cares about everyone's success at the indy level.
This was my short film's premiere and it was such a great experience! I made so many cool people at the mixer (including some fellow VFS alumni) at the festival director was so cool and easy going. I'm honored to have taken home Best International Short!
Was fantastic to have our film be a part of this festival. We also we're lucky enough to be the finalist of 2 awards and win 1 of them! Thanks Mikel for a great festival.
It was a great festival, and I was very happy I got to be a part of it. I unfortunately did not get to attend but I was very happy my film got to screen. It looked fun from what I saw and the director, Mikel, was very transparent and personable when communicating with me and other people in the festival. I'm sure it's not always like that with other people. I would definitely recommend submitting your film to this festival and submitting it to a category that you believe your film fits into.
Getting to participate in my first comedy film festival was such a fun and great experience. I got to meet actors, screenwriters, and film directors of all kinds. It was a blast and also my debut as a film director here in Portland, OR. Nothing like coming together with other creatives to show each other support for our passion for this beautiful art and craft of storytelling. I can't wait to participate in many more to come.
FilmFreeway reviews are filmmaker opinions, not our score. Cross-check red flags before paying fees.
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
