RAM Film Festival Rovereto – Archaeology – Memories (World Heritage) 2026 SGUARDI SULLE CITTA' FOCUS ON CITIES Main Program Cinema archeologico | Archaeological CInema Storia e memoria | History and Memory Tradizioni e culture | Traditions and cultures Cultura animata | Animated Culture Sezione OFF Fulldome and immersive ---- The Rovereto Civic Museum Foundation, as part of its cultural activities, has organized an international film festival every year since 1990. Since 2021, the Festival has been known as the RAM Film Festival (formerly the International Festival of Archaeological Film). Its aim is to engage and inform the general public about archaeological research and the preservation and enhancement of world cultural heritage. The Festival presents works from all countries and is open to producers, directors, and film and television authors who have created films in the fields of archaeology, history, paleoethnology, and anthropology, focusing on the protection and promotion of material and immaterial cultural heritage, including cultural sites and, where closely related to peoples and cultures, natural heritage sites. The Festival welcomes documentaries exploring all aspects of tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Each year a special focus is chosen; This year’s focus is dedicated to cities. The 2026 focus invites audiences to see cities as living, layered spaces where archaeology, memory, and contemporary life meet. Through cinema and dialogue, the Festival explores how urban forms evolve, how cities engage with their past, and how they transform to face today’s challenges — from sustainability to social inclusion. Eligible works include documentaries, docu-fiction films, fulldome productions (medium and short length) up to 65 minutes, and animated films up to 30 minutes. All screenings, events, and activities are free for the audience. Organized by the Rovereto Civic Museum Foundation, the RAM Film Festival has grown over the years, particularly through the introduction of informal in-depth sessions with leading figures in archaeological research and heritage protection, filmmakers, producers, scholars, lecturers, and scientists from around the world. Since its early editions, the Festival has developed into a broader and ongoing cultural project that extends well beyond the Festival week itself. The Festival features documentaries and docu-fiction films in the following areas: Archaeology Anthropology and ethnography Experimental archaeology History Geophysics and new technologies applied to cultural heritage Investigation of looted archaeological and cultural heritage Paleontology Reports on archaeological sites Fulldome films on cultural heritage Intangible world heritage Animated films on world heritage submission is free for students' projects, animations, and fulldome works RAM has always been committed to building and fostering a broad network of cinematographic and cultural events in Italy and abroad. The Festival maintains various international collaborations, including projects with the Italian Institutes of Culture in Belgrade. RAM was also a founding member of FEDARCINE, the European Foundation of Archaeological Cinema and Cultural Heritage, based in Athens.

A plasure to be part of RAM film festival. Grateful for the opportunity to show my short in Italy.
Glad to be a part of the festival
Thank you for the Tradition and Culture Award. It's a wonderful festival — well-attended and full of genuine film lovers. The organizers were incredibly friendly and everything was so well organized.
Bellissimo festival, è stato un onore essere selezionato con il mio piccolo documentario ed essere in competizione con grandi produzioni. Un applauso a tutto lo staff siete encomiabili.
FilmFreeway reviews are filmmaker opinions, not our score. Cross-check red flags before paying fees.
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
