Overview
The 8th Shahr International Film Festival (also known as the Urban International Film Festival) is a Tehran-based event organized by the Tehran Municipality’s cultural and artistic organization through the Tasvir Shahr Institute. It is notable for being one of Iran’s prominent international festivals and for its focus on cinema about urban life, cities, and urban culture, using film as a platform for dialogue about contemporary city living and urban management.[1][3][5] The festival showcases feature fiction, documentary, short fiction, short documentary, and animation from Iranian and international filmmakers, with dedicated competition sections for these categories.[1][3]
