TRANSLATIONS: SEATTLE TRANS FILM FESTIVAL 2025 TRANSlations: Seattle Trans Film Festival showcases films by, for and about our Trans+ community (Trans, Non-Binary, Gender Non-Conforming, Intersex and Two-Spirit). Launched in 2006, TRANSlations is one of only nine Trans+ focused film festivals in the world, providing an innovative space for creation and connection for under-represented and marginalized identities. A vital community space, this hybrid festival unites audiences and filmmakers from around the globe. Through virtual and in-person screenings, parties, panels, workshops, and community meet-ups, TRANSlations invests in relationships that build bridges and advocate for a more equitable future. /// TRANSlations is produced by Three Dollar Bill Cinema, an organization that strengthens, connects, and reflects diverse communities through queer film and media. We recognize that the term transgender is an umbrella term that fits many different types of people, as well as not fitting some people at all. We strive to provide a place for the exploration of transgender identities and issues through cinema, as the community continues to evolve with time.

My experience with this year's TRANSlations film festival couldn't have been more joyous - I am a filmmaker based in Australia and from beginning to end, from the technical processes to the screening and beyond, I felt the love, support and community feel every step of the way. Highly recommend submitting your important work to this festival knowing it will be loved and supported the whole way through.
Though I was unable to attend the festival in person, the team did an incredible job making me feel connected to other filmmakers and their wide array of excellent programming. I was able to watch so many wonderful films through their online programming as well as participate in helpful online meet and greets. Would definitely recommend, and hope to go in person next time!
Had a great time, and hope to be back soon! All the films showed over two days across two nearby theaters, meaning you could meet and talk to everyone there! Wonderful experience, will definitely prioritize traveling to this festival again!
Oh my gosh I had so much fun, even though I couldn’t make it in person! Great programming, supportive and enthusiastic audiences, straightforward hybrid experience. Love these folks. (This is LeeAnne on my shared account with Josh)
These folks really care about supporting filmmakers!
FilmFreeway reviews are filmmaker opinions, not our score. Cross-check red flags before paying fees.
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
No community reviews yet. If you submitted here, your experience helps others avoid award mills.
