Creativity fueled by Flint! Say hello to the Vehicle City Film Festival! After ten years as the Flint Youth Film Festival, we have decided to expand and rebrand our festival into something that has a connection to the city of Flint, which we call home. We still have our youth categories for young filmmakers 13-18, but we have expanded to accept short films from anyone and everyone in the United States and Canada! Our continued mission is to introduce the art of filmmaking to young filmmakers and provide them with venues for developing their storytelling talents. Also, to give those who have gone out into the world a chance to show us what they've been working on.

Flint Youth Film Festival was great at communicating and really cared about the filmmakers! Thank you for selecting our film, "Down the Drain" as a Finalist!
It's my second year and as always it's a pleasure to have my film among so many amazing other filmmakers, the staff is absolutely incredible!!!
A hearty Thank You and Congratulations to the Flint Youth Film Festival! A wonderful experience to be able to submit independent short films to such a professional and classy event as this! The experience was smooth and informative from start to finish, including the wonderfully produced online awards ceremony after the event. A top-notch experience. ~LCAD Character Animation

I premiered my film “Drowned” at the 2025 Flint Youth Film Festival and I had a great time attending 3 of the 4 days! The festival hosts/directors were great and well organized, the guest speakers were great, and the food was also great ;). Definitely would love to attend again in the future!
FilmFreeway reviews are filmmaker opinions, not our score. Cross-check red flags before paying fees.
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
No community reviews yet. If you submitted here, your experience helps others avoid award mills.
