Overview
Carolina Fear Fest is Raleigh’s horror-focused convention and film festival, held at the NC State Fairgrounds and organized by Frozen Panic Productions. It is notable for combining horror film screenings with celebrity guests, panels, vendors, cosplay, and other fan programming, and it has described itself as Raleigh’s first horror convention since launching in 2019. The festival screens horror films in full-length, short, and micro categories, making it a regional gathering point for horror fans and indie genre filmmakers.

Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.

How scoring works
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
