The Diverse Dreams Screenplay Competition is a Louisville-based screenplay contest organized in partnership with Women in Film Kentucky to encourage more diverse stories set in Kentucky. It is notable for its focus on narrative feature and short film scripts, as well as TV pilots, that feature strong lead female, trans, or non-binary characters and center Kentucky locations or themes. Winners receive cash prizes and live table reads at a film and TV industry event, giving the competition significance as a regional platform for emerging writers and underrepresented voices.

Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
