Overview
I could not verify a film festival formally named the FearFighters Quarterly Showcase in the provided results. The closest matching result appears to be an online fear-themed festival associated with the slogan “Fight the fear and be free,” but the available information does not establish it as a recognized U.S. film festival circuit event or clearly define its programming focus.[1]

Research
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.

How scoring works
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
