Overview
The JÁ International Poetry Film Competition 2023 in Lisboa was the first poetry-film competition within JáFEST, a larger theatre and arts festival supported by the European Union. It was notable for combining poetry film with theatre, workshops, talks, and an exhibition program, and for screening selected works at venues linked to Portuguese literary culture, including Casa Fernando Pessoa. The competition showcased short poetry films from an international open call and helped position Lisbon within the growing international poetry-film festival circuit.
