  From my perspective this isn't a real festival. And this review isn't coming from someone who feels bitter as I won "Best London Film director". There are so many films "selected" for this event and yet less than 10 were included in the one off live screening. How can a festival select 500 and counting and show less than 10..? Makes the whole thing meaningless

  The London Directors Awards Festival misleads filmmakers by not clearly defining what "selected" means, implying their films will be screened. In reality, out of hundreds of selected films, only 8-10 are shown. These festivals maximize submissions for revenue, charging entry fees and sometimes streaming films without sharing revenue with the filmmakers. Film Freeway fails in its duty to filmmakers by not ensuring explicit consent or control over how films are used and screened by festivals. Filmmakers often find themselves bound to unfavorable streaming terms without an opt-out option. Festivals must be required to share at least 20% of the revenue with filmmakers for any films screened, especially those placed on online platforms for profit.
