Overview
Outstanding Screenplays Shorts Competition is a UK-based short screenplay competition that focuses on getting winning scripts produced rather than only awarding prizes. It accepts English-language short scripts of 2 to 30 pages from writers worldwide, including live action, animation, documentary, and proof-of-concept shorts, and stands out for offering a guaranteed production budget of at least $10,000 with co-production support. Its significance in the short-film circuit comes from its industry-facing model and its emphasis on turning scripts into finished films rather than remaining a purely literary contest.

Research
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
