Overview
The Schoolyard Studio TV Pilot Writing Contest is a U.S.-based screenwriting contest focused on original television pilot scripts rather than produced films or a broader film-festival lineup. It is notable for recognizing TV-pilot writing talent, and one documented winner is Randy Gross’s "99 Ways to Get Out of Gym Class," which took top honors in 2024. Its significance is primarily within screenwriting and TV development circles, where pilot contests help spotlight emerging writers and can provide early industry visibility.

Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
