Overview
She/Her Fest is an annual non-profit film festival held in the Pacific Northwest, dedicated to empowering, recognizing, and promoting art created by women-identifying filmmakers. It aims to amplify voices that may not otherwise be heard by showcasing new, independent artwork with a budget cap of $25,000, and is open to everyone regardless of gender [sheherfest.com](https://www.sheherfest.com/about), [filmfreeway.com](https://filmfreeway.com/SheHerFest). The festival is notable for its unique awards that reclaim derogatory terms, such as 'The Ruthless Bitch' and 'The Worldly Whore,' to highlight positive traits and challenge stereotypes [filmfreeway.com](https://filmfreeway.com/SheHerFest), [sheherfest.com](https://www.sheherfest.com/awards).

Research
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.

How scoring works
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
