All type of shorts are welcome up to maximum 15 minute long of Portuguese or English language or subtitled in one of those languages; no-spoken-word films have a better opportunity to be chosen for program, as well as music films and animation. I couldn't be there, but from a distance I saw an effervescent and multidisciplinary festival that seemed very well organised, the type of event that positively shakes up a community and brings people together. An excellent and important cultural service. Communication was prompt and effective.
Couldn't be there in person, but I strongly appreciate the selection for my short film "Momento." Applaud and congratulate the organizers of this festival for highlighting up and coming workers and thank them for the selection!
It's always such an honor to be selected to Shorts@Fringe. They are an amazing cultural organization whose efforts are appreciated by thousands...locally and globally. They are great communicators, too...promptly returning emails and promoting all the films widely on their social platforms. Hat tip to Terry Costa! I am so grateful for your support and enthusiasm for my work over the years!
Um festival muito importante que junta as ilhas dos Açores à comunidade do cinema internacional. Votos de continuação de bom trabalho!

FilmFreeway reviews are filmmaker opinions, not our score. Cross-check red flags before paying fees.
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
