Overview
The UNO Student Showcase is a student-run film festival hosted by the University of New Orleans’ Film UNO program in the Performing Arts Center’s Recital Hall. It is notable for giving student filmmakers a free, public theatrical platform to screen their work, learn festival operations, and connect with the New Orleans film community; it is also described as the largest student-run film festival in Louisiana. The showcase primarily features short student films and emerging voices, including narrative, documentary, experimental, and graduate thesis work, and it serves as an important campus and regional showcase for new talent.

Research
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.

How scoring works
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
