Overview
The WIFVNE Screenwriting Contest is a Women in Film & Video New England program in the United States that highlights emerging voices, especially women and underrepresented writers, through a public screenplay competition. It is notable for accepting short scripts or excerpts of up to 15 pages, welcoming all genres, and requiring a female-identifying protagonist, with the winning script showcased at a live table read during WIFVNE’s annual conference in Boston. Its significance lies in its role as a regional platform for developing screenwriting talent and elevating inclusive storytelling within the broader film and television community.

Research
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
