Overview
The Basha Uhuru Visions of Freedom Film Festival is a Johannesburg screening programme held at Constitution Hill as part of the broader Basha Uhuru Freedom Festival. It is notable for linking film to South Africa’s youth activism legacy, especially the 1976 Soweto Uprising, and for using cinema as a platform for creative freedom, memory, and social reflection.

Research
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
