Overview
The Joburg Underground Film Festival is a Johannesburg-based festival hosted at The Bioscope Independent Cinema and is known for championing experimental, radical, and unorthodox cinema from around the world. It is notable for being one of the few festivals in Sub-Saharan Africa dedicated exclusively to experimental short films, giving a platform to boundary-pushing African work alongside international shorts; it is also a non-competitive event in the independent film circuit.

Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
