Overview
KINETIQ Short Film Festival is a new independent short-film festival in Santo Domingo, first presented for June 2026 at Casa de Teatro in the Colonial City. It is notable for positioning itself as a platform to discover, reward, and give visibility to emerging talent, with programming that combines training, screenings, and professional exchange; it also aims to connect young filmmakers with audiences and industry partners. The festival showcases fiction, documentary, and animation shorts, including Dominican student and pre-university work as well as international entries, and its winning shorts are slated to enter the Dominican Film Festival in New York, strengthening its role in the regional festival circuit.

Research
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.

How scoring works
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
