Strong legitimacy signals
Tier A score for legitimacy and industry clout. Still confirm deadlines, fees, and categories on the festival site before paying.
The Krakow Film Festival is Poland's premier and one of Europe's oldest festivals dedicated exclusively to documentary, animation, and short films, founded in 1961. It is notable for being the only festival in Poland qualifying for Academy Awards in both feature-length documentary and short film categories, and it is one of only five FIAPF-accredited documentary and short film festivals globally. The event showcases around 250 films annually across four equal-weight competitions and serves as a significant launchpad for international careers in the non-feature film circuit.

Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
