Overview
Spotlight on Academics Film Festival is an annual Thunder Bay, Ontario festival that emphasizes film as a teaching tool and presents carefully selected works for post-secondary classroom use. It is notable for its academic-oriented curation, its mix of public in-person and online access, and its role as a specialized boutique venue for educators, filmmakers, and discerning viewers rather than a broad commercial showcase. It primarily screens documentary films under 90 minutes, though it accepts films in any format and on any subject, and it includes subtitles in English or French for non-English works.
