Founded in 1982, the Uppsala Short Film Festival is Sweden's premier arena for short film and one of Europe's most important festivals in the genre, screening over 300 films annually across fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, and hybrid categories. It is notably recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the European Film Academy, and BAFTA, meaning winners of its international or national competitions may qualify for Oscar consideration, while Swedish entries also become eligible for Guldbagge nominations.

Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
