Always a fantastic line-up of films, talks, and parties. Great venues, including the Vic Theatre, and a fantastic festival staff led by Kathy Kay. Warm, devoted, and informed audiences and great support and coverage from local news and outlets. VFF is a must.
Great festival with supportive staff in an awesome city!
I had a great time at the festival - they make it very fun for filmmakers and Victoria is a lovely city.
Great festival, and excellent communication!
An iconic film festival with 25 years in the game. Thank you for screening our client, LOVE POOL, we've not had the chance to attend this festival but if your hospitality is anything like the communication and programme quality we can guarantee it's ace.
FilmFreeway reviews are filmmaker opinions, not our score. Cross-check red flags before paying fees.
Live web research is off to control API cost. This shows cached scheduled research when available, plus analysis from our database.
Hard research (cheap model + thorough prompt) runs on a cron for suspicious festivals; a biweekly job refreshes others. No live API calls from the site.
Scores are calculated from structural indicators: accreditations, physical screenings, award category count, submission frequency, and acceptance rate. Higher scores reflect more verifiable legitimacy signals.
